Ride, Laugh, Love: Join the ExcitemenButtont of Horses at our Summer Camp 2024!

Horseback riding is a sport where kids build confidence, make friends, and learn horsemanship! Summer camp at Lake Geneva Area Equestrian Center, a Pony Club Riding Center is the PLACE TO BE!!! We have the unique distinction of being an Official Pony Club Riding Center where we utilize the United States Pony Club Standards of Proficiency, and curriculum in our camps and lessons.

Participation at our Unmounted Horsemanship Learning sessions on Mondays, and/or horseback riding summer day camp is an ideal way to start the journey of learning and enjoyment with horses. In the unmounted Monday sessions, We will utilize the “badge program” curriculum to teach various horsemanship topics and the children will earn a badge at the conclusion of the program for all the topics they have demonstrated proficiency. Our Summer day riding camps are open to girls and boys ages 5 through 14. Since most of our lesson mounts are ponies or small horses, participation is limited to children under age 14 in our mounted Camps.

On a typical day, campers team up with one of the farm’s gentle school ponies and will be grouped with riders of the same levels, and learn to care for their equine partner while socializing with other “horse-loving” kids. Please note that these camp sessions are heavily focused on Riding vs other camps where the kids spend the day doing other things and only ride for a short while. Beginners start safely on a lead line with an experienced instructor and Helper, then learn to steer and control their mount, with a goal to ride independently, and under control by the end of the session. We incorporate horse related activities, and fun games on horseback to reinforce Learning.
